The delegation consisting of members of the Communist Party of China, which has been in the country since Sunday, this Tuesday paid a courtesy call to the Secretary General of the RPF Inkotanyi, Francois Ngarambe.
The meeting was held at the RPF headquarters in Kimihurura, where the two parties agreed to further their cooperation based on mutual respect, as has been the case for the past 18 years, since the relationship was established.
The Secretary General during the meeting reiterated RPF’s commitment to learning from the Chinese experience of economic transformation for the betterment of the people.
He expressed optimism that the cooperation between the two parties, which hold leadership in both countries, will continue opening doors for Chinese private companies to exploit the various investment opportunities that are available in Rwanda.
The SG also called for more joint ventures between Rwandan and Chinese business operators.
“Despite our different historical background, we both share the commitment for economic transformation of our countries, for the social economic well being of our people," SG Ngarambe told the delegation during the meeting.
He took the opportunity to pledge Rwanda’s commitment to strengthen the China -Africa partnership.
"If I recall well; President Paul Kagame did mention to your head of parliament in his last visit in Rwanda that he’s been acting as a "spokesperson" for China-Africa cooperation, which points to our continued support to the growing cooperation between China and African countries,” he said.
According to Wang Heming, the head of the Chinese delegation, the partnership between the two parties form a solid foundation for the cooperation at the state level.
He also reiterated commitment to continued exchange of ideas, for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
Wang, who said he was last in Rwanda 10 years ago, commended the progress that has been registered in the country both in infrastructure and other development aspects, specifically recognizing the role of the RPF Chairman, President Paul Kagame for his zeal to develop the nation.
Speaking about the visit, Justin Mukobwa, an RPF Commissioner said that during the three-day visit, delegates from the two parties discussed how best they can work together to strengthen areas like cadreship training.
“We have such trainings for our cadres here but the Chinese are much more advanced…they have schools from where they conduct such so we have been discussing to see how best we can use their experience,” she said.
