SG tips RPF youth on job creation, nation building

The Secretary General of the RPF Inkotanyi, Francois Ngarambe has challenged the youth to not wait for when they have enough resources to venture into entrepreneurship.

He says that rather, they use the favourable conditions that are in place, and the little resources available to venture into entrepreneurship, create jobs and wealth.

He was addressing over 150 representatives of the RPF Youth League, who held a retreat over the weekend at the Rwanda Management Institute that is based in Muhanga, where the core mission was to enumerate the role of the youth in developing the country.

“You should not wait for when you have enough resources to venture in entrepreneurship, you have to start with the little you have; otherwise you can never have enough. Imagine if the RPF had waited for when there were enough facilitation to liberate the country?” he told the attentive youth.

He challenged them to use ICT to not only promote national development but also connect with the world, saying that platforms like the social media must be used constructively.

S.G Ngarambe said that the country was liberated by the youth during the liberation struggle that ended the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

The struggle for the current generation and the next to come, he said, was to ensure that the country develops more than it achieved in the past 22 years.

“We need to change our mindset to achieve a lot, you have to look forward, though we have achieved a lot, there is a long way to go and your role is underestimated,” he told them.

He noted that the responsibility of RPF youth league representative committees is to ensure that Rwandan youth are supported to achieve development by creating jobs in cooperatives other than working individually.

The youth representatives were drawn from all districts in the country.
