Thousands grace RPF-inkotanyi parliamentary campaign launch in Rulindo

The Secretary General of RPF-inkotanyi, François Ngarambe has called upon Rwandans to turn up in large numbers to vote for the party’s candidates in the parliamentary elections slated for September 3.

He was addressing thousands of party members who had on Monday gathered in Masoro Sector, Rulindo District for the inaugural rally.

“Our target is for all Rwandans to be self-reliant and we have made good progress. We however remain with a long journey to get where we are and this is why you should support the candidates you already nominated to facilitate that journey to transform our country,” Ngarambe  who was chief guest told the residents.

During the rally, which was also attended by senior officials both from RPF and the allied political parties, the residents were introduced to the candidates that were approved by the electoral commission to stand on the RPF ticket.

The list, which consists 80 parliamentary aspirants, also has members of the six allied parties; PDI, PPC, UDPR, PSP, PDC and PSR.

53 three seats of the 80-member parliament will be voted through the direct ballot system while the rest will come from special interest groups.

S.G Ngarambe conveyed to the people of Rulindo a message of thanks from the Party Chairman, H.E President Paul Kagame, saying that to easy his delivery of the campaign promises he made last year, they needed to vote for RPF legislators.

This same message was echoed by the leaders of the allied parties, who said that the President needs legislative backing to deliver his campaign programme.

The campaigns will in the next two weeks proceed in different districts across the country, where the candidates and senior party officials will be meeting residents to showcase the RPF manifesto and encourage them to vote for the candidates.
