A cabinet meeting that was chaired by the RPF Chairman President Paul Kagame on Wednesday November 11 resolved to maintain all measures in place to contain the spread of Covid-19.
The meeting, which was convened at Village Urugwiro, among others directed that the night-time curfew of between 10pm and 4pm when movement will be maintained and that measures will be reviewed after 15 days.
“Citizens are reminded of the critical importance of complying with health measures including physical distancing, wearing facemasks, and hand hygiene. Penalties will be applied for non-compliance,” reads part of the statement released after the meeting.
The country has in the past week seen a surge in cases of Coronavirus, where at least five deaths have been registered within just three days, while daily cases are back in double digits, save from Thursday, when seven cases were registered.
Rwanda has been commended for enforcing stringent and effective measures to contain the virus, where different regions including Europe, have given greenlight to passengers coming from Rwanda to enter the region without first going in quarantine.
