Chairman meets new RPF party executive

The party Chairman, H.E Paul Kagame on August 31 met the recently elected National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling party, RPF-Inkotanyi, at the party headquarters in Rusororo, Gasabo District.

This was the first time that the party Chairman, was meeting the executive committee, which was elected with him this year on April 2 during the 16th RPF-Inkotany Congress.

According to a post on the party’s X (formerly twitter) handle, the meeting focused on key priorities of the country’s socio-economic transformation.

This NEC meeting, which included RPF commissioners as well as various officials and members of the private sector, focused on key priorities for Rwanda’s socio-economic transformation.

NEC, which is composed of the Chairman, vice chairperson, Secretary General and 25 commissioners, is among others charged with the implementation of the resolutions of other party organs such as the General Assembly, the Political Bureau, and the party Congress.

The 25 commissioners, who include 10 elected from the party’s youth structures, are deployed in 16 commissions whose activities they follow up on a daily basis.

During the April 2 elections, the party replaced long serving vice president, Hon. Christophe Bazivamo and Secretary General Hon. Francois Ngarambe. They had been at the party helm for over 20 years.

Bazivamo was replaced by Hon. Consolee Uwimana – the first woman to occupy the seat – while Ngarambe was replaced by Hon. Wellars Gasamagera.
